WHAT IS FASTING?
Fasting is one of several spiritual disciplines used to help believers develop their relationship with Christ. Fasting is to voluntarily abstain from all or some kinds of food or drink for the purpose of drawing closer to Christ. It comes from the Hebrew term tsum, which refers to the practice of self-denial. Fasting must be done with an attitude of humility.
WHEN WE WILL FAST
We will fast from Feb 18 - April 2, 2026 (Monday - Saturday). SUNDAYS ARE EXCLUDED.
HOW WE WILL FAST & PRAY
Select 1 of the plans below and follow the guidelines throughout the entire Fast.
1. The Daniel Fast

If you have any health conditions, please seek advice from your physician before beginning any corporate food fast at Gospel Ark Temple.
It is not necessary for others to know we are fasting. (Matthew 6:16-18)
1. The Daniel Fast
Includes (Consume):
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Whole grains
- Nuts and seeds
- Drink Water ONLY
Avoid (DO NOT Consume):
- Meat (red meat)
- Dairy
- Added sugars
- Fried foods
- Bread with yeast
- Processed foods
- Non-essential spending
2. Intermittent Fasting
- 6AM - 6PM (abstain from food)
- Water, herbal tea, or black coffee only during the fasting hours
- Break the fast with a simple, light meal.
- No non-essential spending
3. Lifestyle Fast
Abstain from:
- Social media
- Television
- Video games
- Secular music
- Gossip, complaining, or negative speech
- Non-essential spending
PRAYER
- Prayer EVERY Wednesday @ 6AM (Gospel Ark App and website, Facebook)
- Prayer EVERY Wednesday @ 6:30PM
